Nabbed myself a copy of this, Astonishing Spiderman & Wolverine No. 1 : “One Fine Mess” Pt. 1 while at the Philly Drawathon because I found the art to be impeccable.  I wish I could post examples of some of my favorite drawings in this issue, but unfortunately I can’t find any online. My teacher, Jonathan Bartlett had been harping on me all school year to learn how to effectively use inks to black out areas of drawings or to add detail, so as to help separate elements in a drawing with the lineart (there’s a better way of writing this but the words aren’t exactly coming to me).   This comic does a fantastic job of it and I’m taking quite a bit of inspiration from it, as well as pretty much every other aspect of the art in this issue because I’m loving it. I haven’t really read a whole lot of superhero comics, but I’m going to have to keep an eye out for more where the art strikes a chord with me as much as this issue has.
